Ten years after 9/11, a ceremony was held in recognition of the over 300 search and rescue dog teams that worked the World Trade Center attack site. A beautiful and touching video honoring all the heroic dogs of 9/11 who risked their own lives looking for survivors at Ground Zero.

An incredibly touching video of one woman’s tribute to her beloved dog Sophie:

Sophie Bella was a twice-returned shelter dog. She ended up being the most amazing dog and friend in the world. I miss her daily.

Sophie loved everyone, and everyone loved Sophie. She had a huge fan club. And I was her biggest fan. She saw me through cancer, the death of my mother, break ups, stressful projects, and was always smiling. She mountain biked with me, ran with me, hiked with me, and snuggled with me.

She passed away after a long battle with cancer, but she was never sick and never slowed down. The night before she died was the night of my holiday party, and you would have thought she was 11 months old and not 11 years old. She passed away suddenly and peacefully at home, in my arms. We should all be so lucky to go that way.

She was an amazing addition to my life. Shelter dogs are the best.

Tribute to Buster
This is my son Buster, he was 8 years old when I had to put him down October 28, 2010. He had bone cancer that spread quickly through the left side of his body, making it hard for him to walk. I waited as long as I could, but I am small and couldn’t carry him everywhere he had to go, such as outside for the bathroom. Throughout the entire and very painful last days of his life, my boy never stopped wagging his tail. RIP Bussie Brown.

Since his birthday passed a few weeks ago (March 9th), I went through my posts and found this so I could reblog it again. Requestcat en pace, Bus. I miss you so much. <3

On February 19, 2013 we had to let our little very best friend, Happy Dog, go. He came to be with us in 1998 when he was only six weeks old. We miss him so badly. This is a tribute to fifteen years of life with him. He was so big even though his body was small. He was fierce and loyal. He was a true friend.

Thank you to our adorable friend Pixel Blue Eyes for sharing this sweet and touching video of her uncle Happy Dog with us!

Lovely Maggie enjoying her toy bone.
This photo was taken a week before my little Chihuahua Maggie passed away. I was so happy I bought her a new toy and she loved it. This was a Kodak moment for sure.
