a place to love dogs

Pepper’s getting her daily sun bathing in while catching a few good zzzzz’s. And what’s better than having your favorite squeaky next to you while you nap.
Pepper has to keep her lovely reddish brown color looking perfect, and the only way to do this is to get a little sun bathing in each day. When the temperatures don’t allow her to go outdoors, she has to catch it at any window.

So I guess it’s time for introductions, eh? =)This is the one and only, the legendary, the fantastic Charlie! (also known as Charles Bark-ley, Charlie Bear, Sir Charles, and many more…hehe). He’s a long haired miniature Dachshund; technically he’s 7, but he’s a kid at heart. He’s spunky, sweet, curious, and stubborn…and by far the best friend a girl could ask for. =D
So maybe I go a bit overboard with how much i love this little dude, how much I talk about him, how many pictures of him end up on facebook, etc etc…but you know what? Considering all he’s done for me, I don’t think there’s such a thing as too much. See, here’s the thing – this isn’t a one way street, we absolutely saved each other.

When I met Charlie, I was in a really dark place… and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him. He’s a lot to handle, but hey, so am I. Actually, if anything, we’re so similar it’s astounding…for better or for worse. We’re learning a lot of lessons together – in particular, how to love another and how to let ourselves be loved.
