I am a vet tech, and Boris came into my clinic in May through a local rescue organization. He had an eye infection, skin infection, terrible teeth, and heartworms. His coat was matted and he looked terrible. He was groomed and treated for all of the above ailments, and two months later he was still in our clinic, lacking a foster home. I finally took him home from work one day because I knew he needed to get out of the kennel. After two months of fostering him, I adopted him because he is one of the coolest dogs I’ve ever met. He’s so chill, so friendly, so sweet, and so loving. I’m so glad he’s joined my life.
This picture is shortly after I adopted him, got him another summer haircut (with a sweet mohawk!), while he was the center of attention at a happy hour near my clinic.

Super Creative Dog Costume - How It Was Made

This is Bones Mello, known around the internet as the AT-AT dog. His photos, in this creative costume have been popping up all over the place.

Katie, the mom of Bones Mello, posted her step-by-step AT-AT costume process on Bones’ Facebook page. (Go on and “like” while you’re over there!)

Here’s how this amazing outfit was made. All captions and photos are from Bones’ page:

“This is an early shot of the foam form I made for fitting purposes. It was made to minimize the fittings on Bones the actual dog. He is patient, but there are limits.”

“Here is Bones in his speed suit. This is two pieces, body and head, and is completely open underneath. I patterned it after some pajamas that he wears at night.”

“I am holding the body of the vehicle on bones to check the fit. I was taking too long to get his picture and he was ready to be done. I made the body all out of foam sheet which was 1/4 inch thick with “fun foam” foam sheets on top. It hardly weighs anything.”

“Here is the body suit once it is painted. The feet are just slid on to the model. The round disks at the joints snap on to the suit so it is more comfortable and easier to get on and off.”

The final product, the coolest thing ever!
