It was a sweltering, insanely hot day and Max took matters into his own paws and dug up a patch of soil to sit in to keep himself cool. He made a huge mess, got soil all over himself and the porch but he was happy (and a little defiant). I gave him biscuits for his cleverness instead of scolding him for destroying the garden.
