a place to love dogs

About Us

At a place to love dogs we love dogs of all kinds.

We love their loyalty and companionship.
The way their tails wag when they see you.
The way they know when you’re sad and cuddle with you to make you feel better.
The way they enthusiastically greet you at the door when you come home.

Regardless of the breed, colour or size — they’re all special. Such great friends to have in your life.

We aim to bring you the best photos, quotes, stories and inspirations about dogs from around the world, all in one place.

We hope that those who love dogs will find heart warming experiences and enjoyment in every visit.

Our dog Homer, in a way, is a big part of the reason we started this site. Well, that and our huge love of dogs.

A Friend For Life

Homer
Homer is a 14 1/2 year old Golden Retriever with a heart of gold and the spirit of a puppy. Everyone on our street knows Homer and wherever we go with him someone will comment on what a beautiful dog he is, stop to pat him on the head and once you do you have made a friend for life.

A Place To Love Cookies

One of Homer’s favorite things in the whole wide world aside from barking is his cookies. There is a house down the street that leaves cookies out for him everyday, which makes that Homer’s most desired walk destination.

A Good Day

Homer loves to play at the park with the other dogs and it is so cute to see him try and run, romp and chase the other dogs; of course he can’t really, but he doesn’t know. We love him so very much and are grateful for the joy and happiness he has brought into our lives. Everyday we have with him is a blessing. Today is a good day.

The Saddest Day

Sadly, Homer has left us On May 16th/2011 at the age of 15 1/2. We are so glad that he lived such a long, happy, healthy life. He was a joy to everyone who knew him and we were so blessed to have shared so much time with him. He was such a great dog and inspiration to those around him and as one of my friends said “If I come back as a dog in my next life, I want to come back as Homer.”
